All about birds
It’s been all about birds over the last couple of weeks with children from Year 3 to Year 5 taking part in the RSPB Schools’ Birdwatch and observing birds including fieldfare, redwings and woodpigeons. Thank you to Pat Lay who helped the children to identify the birds that we are so lucky to have around our school. It was lovely to see children, this week, stop playing to point out a red kite as it swooped over the field next to the playground.
We have also recently had a lovely worship about the awesomeness of birds led by Nina and Rupert in Year 6.

On Tuesday, the school were introduced to our ‘therapy chickens’ which are intended to support mental health, offering calm and sensory benefits. The chickens have all been hand-knitted by Pat Parkin (who recently retired as one of our lunch time supervisors). After half-term we will name the chickens and teach the children how they can use them. Thank you Pat.
