King Henry VIII visits Year 3

On Monday, King Henry VIII and one of his courtiers visited our Year 3 class. The King recounted stories and gave an insight into what life was like under his reign and what would be expected of the pupils as his subjects.  They learnt about the King’s wives, the Church of England and all about the longbow. The children offered the King a gift of a painting but we are not sure we lifted his mood!

What lifted everyone else’s mood was the dance that they learnt and rehearsed outside at the end of the session.  All the children seemed to really enjoy this interactive learning opportunity and gained a lot from such a memorable experience.
