Ukulele Performance

On Monday the whole school were treated to an uplifting and joyful performance by Letchworth Ukulele Group - LALUKE. Twenty one members of the group played lots of well known numbers and the children were encouraged to move, clap and sing along to the music. Some favourites were Shotgun, Sweet Caroline, Three Little Birds and You are my Sunshine. Poppy in Yr1 brought her own ukelele along and was able to share this with everyone.

It gave the children a taster of an instrument that many had not heard of and hopefully inspired them to have a go themselves. The ukelele is a wonderful starter instrument for young children. It is easy to play and there are many tutorials online to get you started. Who knows...it might be the start of an All Saints Datchworth Ukelele ensemble!
