Wesak Assembly
On Wednesday we celebrated Wesak Day (or Buddha Day as it is also known). Buddhists around the world celebrate this day to mark Buddha's birth, his enlightenment and to show gratitude for the teachings he left behind after his passing.
We looked at the ways in which some Buddhist children celebrate this day and the ways in which they carry out acts of kindness and compassion. In Buddhist temples, statues of Buddha are bathed and we did this with our statue of Buddha.
We also enjoyed trying out some Tibetan "singing" prayer bowls, listening to the calming sound waves they create.
