- Children will start in Reception in the September following their fourth birthday.
- To aid this transition, children attend for shortened days initially, with all children attending full-time school days by the end of the first week of term in September. This has worked extremely well in previous years, but if you have any concerns specific to your child, please do come and speak to staff.
- Please see our admissions policy for information about delayed start to Reception and part-time Reception places.

Continuing Interest (waiting list)
Main admission - Reception applications
After places have been offered, Hertfordshire County Council will maintain a continuing interest (waiting) list until the end of the summer term before the start of the Reception year. At the end of the summer term, the school’s governing body becomes responsible for the continuing interest list. Parents who wish to stay on the continuing interest list after this time must confirm that they are still interested in a place at the school by completing an in-year application form (and SIF, if relevant). The governing body will maintain this continuing interest list until the May half term of the Reception academic year.
